All Ranks start at 1400 points. A win or loss against bots is 4 points plus or minus, a win or loss against humans is 8 points plus or minus. A win or loss against a human and a bot is also 4 points plus or minus.

We recently introduces rank as part of our spades games. Rank scores are stored according to the player and the score you have today with be the score you have tomorrow and the week or month after. The game does not end after a single play or day of playing because the rank score is a record of wins and loses over time. The games have become more competitive and less social because they now have significance.

A number of players achieved a high rank quickly raising suspicions. Spades online instituted a rank penalty to keep games rank scores fair. An 8 point deduction will be assessed to any player quitting late in a game. This helps to insure that players are not avoiding a rank deduction for loses, and to insure that players who should receive maxium rank points for a win will get those points. Some contend that circumstances beyond their control necessitate leaving late in a game. For this reason we are installing a "Be Right Back" button. In the event a player must leave a game, they can allow the bot to play for a short time in their absence, although for a short period of time.

Players are encouraged to increase their rank in order to access addition rooms. The level of play in these rooms increase as well. Room 2 games are more advanced that those in Room 1. Games include Misdeal, Be Right Back and a Chat Lobby. Increase your rank and join the winning players in Room 2. You should know that playing humans is encouraged, hence, the higher rank for doing so.

The Future of Rank is not going to be pleasant for some. Limits on daily play was designed to prevent accessive use of the website by few, especially spammers. There are those who believe increasing their rank by playing bots only, therefore kicking human players, leaving and rejoining the same game as a re-deal option, and sandbagging bots is acceptable. We are aware thay you have ways to get around the limit, as is. The new limit will penalize bot only play, violations of the site limit and abuse of human players. The purpose of this website, afterall, is to provide a multiplayer experience for people, not individuals whose only concern is ultra high rank. Penalties will not be disclosed until levied. Cheat the limit and the bots at your own risk.
