Misdeal When You Need It

Misdeal has been added to all Room 2 Tables and Room 1 on 500 point tables. The nasty habit of "spiking" a game, where an obnoxious player deliberately misbids their hand and leaves, with the intention of spoiling the game has now been foiled by Misdeal. When the game detects an improper bid it gives the table host the option of Declaring a Misdeal.

Early test of Misdeal revealed that some host regard it as a way to deal themselves the perfect hand. They would do so even when humans were seated at their table. Dealing away your opponents hand for no good reason is very inhospitable. In fact, it can be considered cheating. For that reason Misdeal is limited to very special circumstances and we would advise you to use it with fair play in mind.

Some suggest that individual players be given the ability to declare a misdeal when they have no spades or seven cards of the same suit in clubs, diamonds or hearts. As usual, we would like to know what you think about mideal.

When misdeal appears on your tables, be a good host and consider whether the player with the suspicious bid, even if it is an opponent, made the bid accidentally or on purpose. Play to win, but play fair.

We cannot stress enough the need for table Host to be good host. Fair play demands you consult human players before declaring Misdeals, even if the opponent bid 10 and you have a lousy hand. Let the cards fall where they may because, if we must design away authority from the host due to abuse, we will.
